Video Call: Kevin Keegan, the Tour de France, and the Start of the Superliga

One of soccer’s greatest figures has passed away. Frank Arnesen and Søren Lerby begin this week’s video call by remembering Kevin Keegan—both as a world-class player and as a person. They share personal stories from their encounters with the former Liverpool and Hamburg star and explain why he was such a special figure in international soccer.

After that, the Tour de France will come to a close. Both Frank and Søren talk enthusiastically about the spectacular finish in Paris, the collaboration between Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogačar, and the historic performance by Mads Pedersen, who secured the green jersey. They also highlight Jonas Vingegaard’s crash and Mathias Skjelmose’s strong Tour.

As always, soccer takes center stage. The Superliga is back, and Frank and Søren analyze their first impressions of FC Copenhagen, Brøndby, AGF, and FC Midtjylland. In particular, they discuss FCK’s lack of leadership and the club’s development, as well as the first European matches and the biggest transfer stories.

Finally, they answer a listener’s question about Brazil’s decline as a soccer powerhouse. Why doesn’t Brazil produce the same dominant national teams anymore, and what will it take to reverse this trend? They also find time to discuss Jürgen Klopp’s new role with the German national team and Søren Lerby’s upcoming golf challenge.

Another week of incisive analysis, personal anecdotes, and plenty of soccer with Frank Arnesen and Søren Lerby.
